Hello, I'm Melissa!
I am a Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) and a second-year Master of Health Science student in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Toronto. I have worked with both adult and pediatric populations in my clinical experience, including a placement with the Toronto District School Board to support the early identification of developmental language difficulties in junior kindergarten students. I have also administered standardized assessments and provided aphasia therapy as part of a research project funded by Brain Canada Foundation.
I am passionate about developing innovative, personalized strategies that support clients in enhancing their confidence and communication abilities. At the heart of my practice is the belief that helping people find their voice and connect with those around them is an important part of living a full, meaningful life.

What are your areas of interest?
My clinical interests span pediatric language development and adult neurogenic communication disorders, particularly aphasia, as well as stuttering and voice disorders. I enjoy finding creative, individualized approaches that are tailored to each client's needs, interests, and strengths.
What is your favourite speech therapy toy, game, or activity?
Connect 4, picture cards, and bubbles are always a hit in my sessions!
What is something fun or interesting about you that you'd like families to know?
In my free time, I love learning and tutoring students in science and math. Photography is also a hobby of mine, and I love capturing moments with Fujifilm Instax cameras. My twin sister is in speech-language pathology as well, so a passion for communication is definitely in our family!
